How to Experience Total Freedom

Are you stressed? Are you so busy getting to the future that the present is reduced to a means of getting there? Stress is caused by being "here" but wanting to be "there," or being in the present but wanting to be in the future. It's a split that tears you apart inside.

Does the past take up a great deal of your attention? Do you frequently talk and think about it, either positively or negatively? The great things that you have achieved, your adventures or experiences, or your victim story and the dreadful things that were done to you, or maybe what you did to someone else?

Are your thought processes creating guilt, pride, resentment, anger, regret, or self-pity? Then you are not only reinforcing a false sense of self but also helping to accelerate your body's aging process by creating an accumulation of past in your psyche. Verify this for yourself by observing those around you who have a strong tendency to hold on to the past.

Die To The Past Every Moment

You don't need it. Only refer to it when it is absolutely relevant to the present. Feel the power of this moment and the fullness of Being. Feel your presence.

Are you worried? Do you have many "what if" thoughts? You are identified with your mind, which is projecting itself into an imaginary future situation and creating fear. There is no way that you can cope with such a situation, because it doesn't exist. It's a mental phantom.

You can stop this health- and life-corroding insanity simply by acknowledging the present moment.

Become Aware Of Your Breathing

Feel the air flowing in and out of your body. Feel your inner energy field. All that you ever have to deal with, cope with, in real life -- as opposed to imaginary mind projections -- is this moment. Ask yourself what "problem" you have right now, not next year, tomorrow, or five minutes from nöw. What is wrong with this moment?

You can always cope with the Now, but you can never cope with the future -- nor do you have to. The answer, the strength, the right action, or the resource will be there when you need it, not before, not after.

Are you a habitual "waiter"? How much of your life do you spend waiting? What I call "small-scale waiting" is waiting in line at the post office, in a traffïc jam, at the airport, or waiting for someone to arrive, to finish work, and so on. "Large-scale waiting" is waiting for the next vacation, for a better job, for the children to grow up, for a truly meaningful relationship, for success, to make monëy, to be important, to become enlightened. It is not uncommon for people to spend their whole life waiting to start living.

Waiting is a state of mind. Basically, it means that you want the future; you don't want the present. You don't want what you've got, and you want what you haven't got. With every kind of waiting, you unconsciously create inner conflict between your here and now, where you don't want to be, and the projected future, where you want to be. This greatly reduces the quality of your life by making you lose the present.

For example, many people are waiting for prosperity. It cannot come in the future. When you honor, acknowledge, and fully accept your present reality -- where you are, who you are, what you are doing right nöw -- when you fully accept what you have got, you are grateful for what you have got, grateful for what is, grateful for Being. Gratitude for the present moment and the fullness of life now is true prosperity. It cannot come in the future. Then, in time, that prosperity manifests for you in various ways.

If you are dissatisfied with what you have got, or even frustrated or angry about your present lack, that may motivate you to become rich, but even if you do make millïons, you will continue to experience the inner condition of lack, and deep down you will continue to feel unfulfilled. You may have many exciting experiences that monëy can buy, but they will come and go and always leave you with an empty feeling and the need for further physical or psychological gratification. You won't abide in Being and so feel the fullness of life nöw that alone is true prosperity.

Give Up Waiting As A State Of Mind

When you catch yourself slipping into waiting... snap out of it. Come into the present moment. Just be, and enjoy being. If you are present, there is never any need for you to wait for anything.

So next time somebody says, "Sorry to have kept you waiting," you can reply, "That's all right, I wasn't waiting. I was just standing here enjoying myself -- in joy in my self."

These are just a few of the habitual mind strategies for denying the present moment that are part of ordinary unconsciousness. They are easy to overlook because they are so much a part of normal living: the background static of perpetual discontent. But the more you practice monitoring your inner mental-emotional state, the easier it will be to know when you have been trapped in past or future, which is to say unconscious, and to awaken out of the dream of time into the present. But beware: The false, unhappy self, based on mind identification, lives on time. It knows that the present moment is its own death and so feels very threatened by it. It will do all it can to take you out of it. It will try to keep you trapped in time.

In a sense, the state of presence could be compared to waiting. It is a qualitatively different kind of waiting, one that requires your total alertness. Something could happen at any moment, and if you are not absolutely awake, absolutely still, you will miss it. In that state, all your attention is in the Now. There is none left for daydreaming, thinking, remembering, anticipating. There is no tension in it, no fear, just alert presence. You are present with your whole Being, with every cell of your body.

In that state, the "you" that has a past and a future, the personality if you like, is hardly there anymore. And yet nothing of value is lost. You are still essentially yourself. In fact, you are more fully yourself than you ever were before, or rather it is only now that you are truly yourself.

The past cannot survive in your presence. Whatever you need to know about the unconscious past in you, the challenges of the present will bring it out. If you delve into the past, it will become a bottomless pit: There is always more. You may think that you need more time to understand the past or become free of it, in other words, that the future will eventually free you of the past. This is a delusion. Only the present can free you of the past. More time cannot free you of time.

Access the power of Now. That is the key. The power of Now is none other than the power of your presence, your consciousness liberated from thought forms. So deal with the past on the level of the present. The more attention you give to the past, the more you energize it, and the more likely you are to make a "self" out of it.

Don't misunderstand: Attention is essential, but not to the past as past. Give attention to the present; give attention to your behavior, to your reactions, moods, thoughts, emotions, fears, and desires as they occur in the present. There's the past in you. If you can be present enough to watch all those things, not critically or analytically but nonjudgmentally, then you are dealing with the past and dissolving it through the power of your presence.

You cannot find yourself by going into the past. You find yourself by coming into the present.

How to Create in the Eternal Now

By Adrian Cooper
Excerpt from Our Ultimate Reality

“Time” is an illusion, a purely human construct of mankind, designed for convenience in order to measure a perceived “past”, “present” and “future”. The illusion of “time” on Earth is maintained by means of a scientific measurement of the relative positions of the Earth and the Sun in the physical three dimensional Universe in order to observe the seasons and the time the Earth takes for a complete rotation relative to the Sun in the measurement of ongoing “time”, in turn measured by various physical instruments such as clocks, calendars and charts.

Beyond the perceptions of most of those in the physical world, “time” simply does not exist. There is only Now, the Eternal Now where everything that has happened, is happening and ever will happen relative to the Earth concept of time already exists, always has existed and always will exist. Beyond Earth therefore the concepts of “past, present and future” simply do not and cannot exist.

The entire Universe from The Source, The First Cause, God is Energy vibrating at a frequency relative to The Source, The Source being the very centre of the Universe of Energy and the physical world being the outermost shell, the physical three dimensional Universe as observed by means of the physical senses and by science, existing at the lowest rate of vibration and the highest density. It should also be mentioned that the physical Universe of matter represents only a tiny fraction of the Universe of Energy and vibration in its entirety.

All Energy is influenced by the causation of thought before configuring under the influence of that thought, manifesting as an observable effect in the plane at which the thought originated. Everything that happens, ever happened and ever will happen in the entire Universe therefore, including the physical world, first originated as a thought originating from the Mind of a Being, and which thought in turn has its corresponding effect on the Energy of the Causal Spheres of the Universe while becoming the corresponding and potentially observable effect.

The Ultimate act of Creation by The First Cause, The Source, God of the entire Universe in all of its glorious spheres, planes and dimensions originated in the very beginning as a thought in the Mind of God. It can be truly said therefore that we all exist as “expressions”, within the Mind of God, made in the true Spiritual image of God.

Since the beginning of the human concept of “time” mankind has sought to live life based around that concept, thereby always thinking in terms of past present and future rather than Now. The Universe and the Energy we influence in the creation of our own individual realities have no concept of time, only Now, and as a result there is a no past or future irrespective of how much mankind forces his own existence around those erroneous notions. This tendency to force everything to happen in compliance with a notional concept of “time” has a very profound effect on the lives of those who do not fully understand these realities.

When a person thinks in the future tense, for example “ I will”, “I want”, “I could” then the Energy being influenced by those thoughts that can manifest into individual reality will be influenced only in the Now, with the perceived future never actually arriving. So if someone thinks, says or behaves in a manner that implies “I want”, then that person is placing themselves into a perpetual state of “wanting” but never of actually receiving. The vast majority of the human race today exists to some extent in a state of such wanting, while never being in a state of Mind, Energy and vibration to receive that which they “want”.

The Universe, The Source, God is immutable, absolutely perfect in every possible respect, and will accordingly always respond to a thought in its absolute terms rather than a human concept. “I want” literally creates a state of “wanting” perpetually until if or at such time whatever is associated with that thought is shifted to a state of “having” in the Now, which will then allow the object of that thought to manifest from a perpetual want into the actual Now, and accordingly into the individual, observable reality of the person originating that thought.

The importance of the Eternal Now simply cannot be over-emphasised. It is one of the most fundamental influences on the ability to create our own realities Now, rather than perpetually being frozen in a state of wanting but never receiving, a state that many find themselves in today.

The Fastest Way to Manifest Your Desires

By Song Chengxiang
Creator of Quantum Mind Power

Is there a way to change your life condition, and manifest your desires at the fastest possible speed? YES! Definitely! There is a secret that can make you manifest your desires in the fastest possible way you can imagine. I am now going to share this secret with you. Once you master it, and apply it to your own life, you will never experience any struggle again. Your life will become magic. You can easily create the success you want, you can fulfill any desires in your life. Are you ready to know what this secrets is? Here it is:

"The fastest way to manifest any desire is to think, speak and act as if it has already come true."

You may have heard of this in many different ways, but you never found a way to implement this into your own life. If so, this is because you never thought about how powerful this is, and you had doubts about it. Therefore you didn't see the necessity for any action. Let me now help you to clear the doubts, so that you can use it with 100% confidence, and produce 100% results.

Before I do, I am going to say a few words on the concept of truth. "Truth is powerful." Truth is the universal law, it's unchangeable, it has its own organizing power within itself. As long as you know the truth, your level of awareness will automatically increase, and will never fall back again. Once you know the truth, you will totally shift your own perception, and you will see the world very differently. Your life will never be the same again.

Our entire life is seeking for this truth. Some people are lucky, they easily discover the truth, and therefore they can enjoy a stress free live based on the truth. Some other people spend their entire lives struggling but never find the truth. Actually, truth is simple, you only need someone to tell you and you will immediately recognize it and wonder why you never thought about it before. I am now going to share a few simple truths behind this principle...

1. YOU already have what you want
You may have heard of that: "Before you ask, it is already given to you." Have you ever thought of what this really means? You may think that this is another religious belief, but from a scientific point of view this is absolutely true. What it really means is that everything you desire, or anything you can possibly imagine, already exists in the cosmic field of all possibilities as a form of energy. The entire universe is a huge ocean of energy, this means you and I and everything else on this planet, including money, house, cars, or even the ideal soul mate you are looking for, are energy. What you may not know is that this energy acts to the command of the higher intelligence, which governs our entire universal system. What you may also not know is that you are part of this intelligence; you have every quality of the higher intelligence. Therefore you have the ability to command on the energy field. You can create literally anything you can imagine out of this cosmic energy field. Remember, "You are the creator of your own life."

Since what you want is already given to you, it makes absolute sense to think, speak, and act as if all your desires have already come true.

2. Feeling is the language of the higher intelligence.
Since you are part of the higher intelligence, why don't you see any evidence that you are creating the life you desire? Why does life seem a never ending series of struggles? Why is your life still full of worries and anxiety? If you have any of these feelings, this is exactly the answer. What you feel, you create and manifest. The universe will never disappoint you. Whatever you ask, it will give to you. The problem is the universe does not speak English, or Chinese, or any other languages used by human beings. However, there is a universal language built into our body system even before we were born. This language is universal; so the universe can communicate with any one of us.

This language is our feelings and emotions. We are communicating with the higher intelligence every single second since the minute we were born. The universe provides us everything we ask for according to our command. It is the ignorance and misuse of this powerful language that gives us so much struggle and unhappiness. Think about it, if feeling is the language you speak to the universe, when you feel struggling and unhappy, how will the universe respond? It has no choice but to fulfill your command by giving you more struggle and unhappiness. It always satisfies you.

Now you understand no matter how miserable your current condition is, stop feeling miserable and unhappy, because if you do, you are telling the universe that you want more of misery and unhappiness. Instead, "Think, speak and act as if all your desires have already come true." This will trigger the feeling that is consistent with your desires, hence pass your command into the universe, and bring it into reality with effortless ease. The universe will never disappoint you, only you do. Be careful what you feel, because you will attract more of it.

3.The Universe will take care of the details
Now I am asking you to "think, speak and act as if your desires have already come true." You may ask me how you are going to make it so. You don't have to worry, you will know exactly how at exactly the right time and the right place. The universe will take care of all the details. Your job is to tell the universe what you want through the universal language of feelings and emotions. Your emotion is a kind of energy with a certain frequency. It will go into the cosmic energy field, find the exact energy that matches the frequency of your emotions, and bring forth to you in the form of a book, a mentor, an opportunity, or a group of supporting people. It will find exactly what you need, but it is the job of the universe, it is already guaranteed by the universal law of attraction at the moment you send out your emotion. The only thing you need to do is to focus on you heart's desires, feel what you should feel, see what you should see, hear what you should hear, even smell what you should smell, as if your desires have already come true. Let the universe orchestrate all the details.

I hope by now you have already cleared you doubts, as it is absolutely necessary for you to "think, speak, and act as if all your desires have already come true." This is the fastest way to bring it into reality.

The Secret of Happiness in 8 Words

By Stuart Goldsmith,
Excerpt from Seven Secrets of the Millionaires

You might like to know that the secret of happiness can be explained in just eight words and is, in fact, quite mundane. It does not involve meditation, drugs or self-flagellation. Each of the eight words is worth one million dollars, but here they are, free:

Tomorrow - Today - Live - For - Better - Working - A - While

What? You can't make sense of that? I gave you the words for free, but the correct order is going to cost you plenty...

Pause, while the anagram-freaks try to work it out themselves...

Got it? No? Okay, you'll have to read on...

Now, the price for my arranging the words for you is about ten minutes of your time to read this article carefully, because it has important implications for your happiness.

The first thing I want to say is that the human psyche - your psyche - is a very delicate thing indeed - and can be badly damaged, particularly during your early years, by what would outwardly seem to be "not very much."

Put another way, your mind is an incredibly delicate and subtle mechanism - a finely tuned and highly sensitive instrument. So delicate is this wonderful apparatus, that it is flat-out impossible to grow up without some damage to its mechanism.

Moderate damage is normal and severe damage is common.

Please read that last sentence again.

I would say that 100% of people - that's everyone - has moderate damage to their psyche, and about one in three have severe damage. I am talking about damage caused by a normal upbringing, not an abused upbringing. Thankfully abuse is not the norm, but more importantly, the psyche is damaged by numerous small incidents throughout your childhood where you didn't get exactly what you needed, exactly when you needed it.

Parents are, after all, people. They are neither omniscient nor telepathic. They do their absolute best, working from the basis of their own damaged psyches.

And so the cycle continues...

Now the point here is that because everyone is damaged, this means that everyone exhibits symptoms of "mental disturbance" during, and often throughout, their lives. I'm talking 100% of people here. Such symptoms include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Sleeplessness
  • Irrational Fear / Panic Attacks
  • Feelings of Worthlessness, Insecurity, Pointlessness
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Substance Abuse (particularly alcohol which is a wonderful anesthetic for the harshness of life)
  • Irrational Anger / Impatience / Irritation
  • Worry

Because everyone experiences some or all of these on a scale of mild to severe, everyone pretends that they don't experience these things and we all play this ridiculous game in which we pretend it's just other people who have problems, not us.

I have talked to hundreds of people from paupers to billionaires. Scratch the surface and what do you get? The same old human-being we all are. The damaged psyche resulting in some or all of the negative symptoms I have listed.

I find this immensely comforting. The real problem about feeling down on life is when you think it's only you who feels like this, and that everyone else is having a great time counting their loot. If you can really take on board what I am telling you here, that everyone is a seething mass of insecurity, angst, unfinished business and emotional turmoil, then I think that helps a great deal.

It's called "the human condition" and comes about as a result of us all having such an immensely delicate psychology. We are about as equipped psychologically to handle the "slings and arrows" of life as a butterfly is to handle a force ten storm.

Every human on the planet is brave beyond measure. Forget "bravery in the face of enemy fire." That's just one sort of bravery and anyway, most soldiers didn't have a choice about going over the top. I'm talking real bravery of the sort you show every morning. You get up and face the world again. You against the world. And it's as much a battle today as it ever was. Labor-saving devices make very little difference. Do you have lots and lots of leisure time because you own a fridge, a washing machine, and a dishwasher? No? I thought not. It's the same old struggle by the same old human beings.

There is a danger in writing (and reading) a motivational, go-get-em, kick-ass "secrets of the millionaires" book because it encourages the sort of polarization I was talking about earlier. You can easily think something like: "Yeah, it's as I suspected, everyone else is happy and making great money, it's only me who cannot achieve anything of note. I'm all alone. Everyone else is so happy and well adjusted..."

I'm telling you now, in as plain a way as I can say, that everyone on the planet is more or less screwed up because of the way we are, and the way the world is. You just cannot avoid the damage.

You have to accept it, patch up what you can and live with the rest. So what can you do to increase your chance of happiness?

Eight Secrets of Goal-Free Living

By Stephen Shapiro
Excerpt from 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life

Success and happiness are unarguably our Holy Grails, but the standards taught to find them are all wrong. We have been brainwashed into believing that the only way to achieve this elusive combination of success and happiness is through setting goals. This is simply not true. In fact, goal-setting is often the shortest route to discontentment.

Fifty eight percent of those I surveyed say that they are consciously sacrificing today's happiness in the belief that achieving their goals will bring fulfillment. Sadly, 41 percent say that each goal achieved brings little, if any, satisfaction, despite all the hard work. So, what do they do? They set another goal. This creates a perpetual cycle of sacrifice and disillusionment. What is the solution?

After interviewing hundreds of people and surveying thousands I discovered that the most passionate, creative, and sometimes wealthiest people live free form the burden of traditional goals. Instead, they have mastered the rare skill of enjoying "now" rather than delaying gratification until the future.

Goals are not inherently bad, but many individuals have an unhealthy relationship with their goals, distorting this potentially helpful tool into a surefire recipe for failure. Why?

  • Quite often, the goals we chase are not our own. Fifty percent of those I surveyed feel that they are living their lives in a way that satisfied others more than themselves. Whose life are you living?

  • Goals can cause you to lose your peripheral vision. When you focus on your goals, you are cutting off potentially greater opportunities from emerging.

  • Goals set you up for failure, say 74 percent of those surveyed, conceding to disappointment and dissatisfaction when they are unsuccessful in achieving their goals. In fact, 92 percent fail to achieve their New Year's resolutions. That is a lot of discontentment.

Goal-Free Living is liberating. It opens new possibilities typically hidden from sight.

We often associate goals with our career. While that is a big aspect of our lives, Goal-Free Living applies to all areas of life, from dating to business.

  • Dating. When you are on a date, do not worry about the next date. Instead, just enjoy the other person's company... for that moment. You will come across as being more genuine and less desperate, and ironically, this increases your chances of getting that second date.

  • Vacationing. When on a vacation, instead of planning every minute of every day, try venturing out into an area not in your guidebook. You may discover some hidden gems. You will feel less hurried and more relaxed. Isn't that what a vacation is all about?

  • Meetings. When you attend a business conference, stop focusing on what you will get out of it and how you will use it. Rather, concentrate on just being there and soaking in as much as possible. Incredible opportunities show up when you are unburdened and blinded by myopic goals.

When you are doing something, as yourself "Why am I doing this?" If you have a reason -- other than just to be there -- then you may have a goal. While it is quite acceptable to have a particular interest in an outcome, do not let that specific focus become so dominant that it blinds you to other opportunities.

How does one embark on a more goal-free life? During my travels around the world and after hundreds of interviews I discovered eight secrets for living goal-free.

1. Use a compass, not a map -- have a sense of direction (not a specific destination), and then "meander with purpose."

2. Trust that you are never lost -- every seemingly wrong turn is an opportunity to learn and experience new things.

3. Remember that opportunity knocks often but sometimes only softly -- while blindly pursuing our goals, we often miss unexpected and wonderful possibilities.

4. Want what you have -- measure your life by your own yardstick and appreciate who you are, what you do, and what you have... now.

5. Seek out adventure -- treat your life like a one-time-only journey, and revel in new and different experiences.

6. Become a people magnet -- constantly attract, build, and nurture relationships with new people so that you always have the support and camaraderie of others.

7. Embrace your limits -- transform your inadequacies and boundaries into unique qualities that you can use to your advantage.

8. Remain detached -- focus on the present, act with a commitment to the future, and avoid worrying about how things will turn out.

For each of these secrets, there are a number of tips for implementing the concept. Here are a few you can try today.

  • Set "themes," not "resolutions" -- rather than set a resolution (i.e. a goal), choose one word to describe your next year. Choose something that is bold and inspires you. Instead of losing 10 pounds, you could choose "health." "Relationships" -- in the broadest sense -- may work better for you than "finding a boyfriend." Any word will do: "grace," "adventure," "serenity," "play."

  • Use "could do" lists instead of "to do" lists -- "to do" lists tend to be draining as they are the things you feel you must do. "Could do" lists contain those things that you want to do that inspire you. They keep possibility in front of you. Keep your list of "to do" items small.

  • Change your filter. One creative way to "seek out adventure" is to make believe you are another person -- an artist, a musician, or a doctor. It doesn't matter, as long as it is someone other than you. When you live your normal day standing in the shoes of someone else, you will see things you have never seen before.

  • Appreciate the whole spectrum of life. Create contrasts to help you appreciate where you are right now. Sleep in a tent and sleeping bag versus always staying in a five-star hotel. Volunteer for a charity. Take the bus to work. Eat at a greasy spoon diner. Swap jobs with someone with a less glamorous assignment for a week. Experience the whole spectrum of life.

The origin of the word "goal" comes from the Old English word for "obstacles" or "a hindrance." In order to achieve a goal, you must work hard to overcome these barriers and roadblocks. Conversely, the origin of the word "aspiration" is the same as the Latin word for "spirit" and "inspire," which means "to breath into" or "panting with desire." Barriers or inspiration. Which would you prefer?
