Let's face it - everybody would love to win the lottery or hit a jackpot at a casino. Even if you don't gamble or even if you never play the lottery - chances are you would still like to win a million dollars or a big payday. Don't get me wrong I'm not encouraging you to go out and play the lottery or gamble. But I know that everybody would love to have a little more luck so I'm about to show you just how you can do that.
Luck isn't just about winning the lottery. Luck isn't about chance.
Believe it or not there is a method, a scientifically proven way to creating your own luck - and if you think you've been unlucky in the past - this method that I am about to reveal to you will show you how to change your luck.
All you have to do is believe that you are lucky, and have a belief system that allows you to be lucky everyday.
Just about everyone I know has some ritual designed to increase luck and bring good fortune - myself included.
Yes I was one of those who thought he always had to wear his lucky socks when playing football or soccer.
And I know many who will still touch wood when talking about the good fortune that they've had.
While these rituals may make you feel better - scientifically they probably have no impact on your luck.
Because you create your own luck and now there is a study that proves this - one that was in a recent issue of Reader's Digest.
Researchers conducted a 10-year case study of 400 people ranging in age from 18-84 hoping to discover why some people are lucky and others are not. The results - you create your own luck based on how you think and how you see things - all of which you can learn to change. Once you change the way you think and the way you see things you will begin to create your own good luck and good fortune.
The more detailed results of this study found that lucky people are lucky because they seize opportunities, they create positive self-fulfilling prophecies and have a resilient attitude that allows them to turn bad luck into good luck by focusing on what went right, and how things could have been much worse - a process that allows them to be thankful for what happened and to look at the positive side of the situation.
If you're not doing any of the above then you may find that you have more "bad" luck than good luck.
You can begin to change your luck and create good luck by training your mind to be more positive, more optimistic, be aware of opportunities and believe that you can have good forutne.
Have an Open Mind
If you want to create your own good luck the first step is to have an open mind and this means that you take a closer look at opportunities - don't dismiss those things that seem coincidental. If you want to earn more möney and a friend suggests a potential investment - explore it - don't just dismiss it outright.
In his research, Richard Wiseman found that lucky people have more opportunities than those who are unlucky. To find out why - he gave those who were lucky and those who were unlucky - the same newspaper and asked them to tell him how many pictures were in the paper. He found that lucky people spent only a few seconds while unlucky people spent a few minutes.
Because on the second page of the newspaper was a note in big type saying: "Stop counting there are 43 photographs in the newspaper. Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $250" Lucky people saw it and the unlucky people missed it. Why? Because unlucky people miss chance opportunities because they are too busy looking for something else - they're not open to possibilities and feel they have to do things a certain way. Lucky people will examine what is in front of them instead of just focusing on what they are looking for - they're more open minded to possibilities and are willing to do things a little differently.
Wiseman also found that lucky people added spice by changing their approach and changing their routines. They would change things every once in a while to try something new - again they were being more open to new possibilities.
When you regularly do this you get your mind and subconscious mind to focus on finding ways to do things. That's when luck begins to come your way. It's all because your subconscious mind begins to create the situations for you to succeed. But this will only happen when you believe you can have good luck and when you believe that you can succeed. Start changing your luck today. Start believing that you can have what you want and good things will arrive.
Another important factor in creating good luck is how you see things and how you deal with setbacks or misfortunes - you know - those times when things didn't turn out as you had hoped. For example: in this recent study researchers found that athletes who won bronze medals were often more happy than those who won silver medals. Why? Because those who won bronze medals realized that if they had been a fraction of a second worse - they would not have received any medal. By contrast - those who won silver medals thought that if they had been a fraction of a second better - they would have won a gold medal.
Lucky people turn misfortune in their favor - they have the approach that goes like this: "Consider yourself lucky, it could have been worse if______ had happened." Whereas unlucky people will say "It's my bad luck that ____ happened."
This is what I mean by how you see things and what you focus on.
Change the way you see things. Consider yourself lucky. Everyday - think of how lucky you are in all areas of your life. By doing this you'll begin training the mind and subconscious mind to believe that you are lucky - and in the end - you'll attract more positive and lucky events into your life.
To prove his point, Wiseman convinced a large number of those in the Unlucky group to try doing things differently. Amazingly 80-percent of those who changed the way they did things, changed they way they saw things by focusing on the good fortune rather than the bad fortune, and became more open minded were not only happier and more satisfied with their lives - they had better luck.
It sounds so simple and it is - but for some people changing the way you do things, seeing possibilities and being more open minded when you're not used to doing this, focusing on the good fortune instead of the bad luck, changing your routines and trying a different approach is so different from what they are used to doing - that they simply can't change. Why? Because we are all creatures of habit - we get into a habit and we stick with it. Then the mind and subconscious mind get used to this habit and you can't change it with the snap of your fingers - it's not that easy. I wish it was - but it isn't.
So what do you do?
Start changing and breaking those habits. Train your mind and subconscious mind to start working for you by getting those great powers to move in a new direction.
