Robert Malone once owned a commercial construction company in O’Fallon, Ill. until he realized the power of hypnosis.
“My first experience with hypnosis was 20 years ago when I used it to quit smoking,” Malone said.
Since then, Malone has become a certified hypnotist as well as a published author. His book, The Fat is in Your Head: How to Leverage Your Unconscious Mind to Lose Weight with Self-Hypnosis, advises readers wanting to lose weight to use self hypnosis as well as a traditional weight loss plan.
“Self hypnosis reforms the internal programming in the brain to lose weight,” Malone said.
Malone added that self hypnosis would assist people with continuing a healthy lifestyle once the weight was lost. According to Malone, that is the hardest part of a good weight loss plan.
Malone himself weighed 336 lbs. previous to trying self hypnosis to lose weight.
“I was skeptical going into it,” Malone admitted. “I basically treated myself like my own client. I put together a program, tried it on myself, and dropped 70 lbs.”
Malone’s weight loss incorporated both self hypnosis and a change of diet. Malone said he stopped eating an abundance of fast food, processed food, and food with high carbohydrates. He also had to curb the cravings of his sweet tooth.
“I had a passion for Snickers bars,” Malone said.
After Malone’s diet changed, he said he was able to comfortably add becoming more active to his routine. According to Malone, changing his diet was the most effective part of his weight loss. He said the self hypnosis kept him on the path to a healthy lifestyle.
The Fat is in Your Head is available at Amazon. According to Malone, the book gives readers tips on how to hypnotize themselves into losing weight.
Anyone attempting to lose weight through a program of any sort should contact their doctor or healthcare provider before starting.
